Comprehensive Security Risk Assessment
Judson ISD engaged True North to conduct comprehensive security risk and vulnerability assessments for multiple facilities across the district.
Judson Independent School District engaged True North (A PMY Company) to conduct comprehensive risk-based security risk and vulnerability assessments for multiple facilities across the district, including:
- Stadium/Athletic Centers
- Three (3) High Schools
- Five (5) Middle Schools
- Nineteen (19) Elementary Schools
- Seven (7) Specialty Campuses
- Four (4) Administration and Support Facilities
- Fifteen (15) Elementary Schools
To initiate the project, TNCG reviewed existing security, safety, and emergency preparedness policies, procedures, and operational protocols. TNCG then conducted on-site assessments, which included:
- Site visits to examine and document existing conditions, equipment, and infrastructure, and to determine device locations.
- Assessments of the general security for campus buildings, including door access, cameras, and other security equipment or systems.
- Discussion of recent security incidents, Identification of threats, risks, and the likelihood of future security incidents based on input from the District and local law enforcement personnel.
- Assessment of security system network connectivity.
Following the on-site assessments, True North prepared recommendations based on the data collected, stakeholder interviews, and industry best practices.
True North also reviewed the following:
- Organizational policies and processes
- Overall findings from the building threat and vulnerability assessments
- How physical and security technologies and location placement(s) met the District’s requirements
- Security systems and/or equipment functionality, including both legacy and networked systems
- Classroom alert and notification systems
- Existing systems for replacement, re-purposing, or enhancement
- Standards for future system expansion and implementation
Upon completion of the assessments and reviews, True North presented a detailed Security and Vulnerability report that included prioritized recommendations and probable costs for mitigating risks and vulnerabilities to District stakeholders.
