PMY was engaged by the Local Organizing Committee of the Special Olympics World Winter Games Turin 2025 held in Torino, Italy to provide a specialist three-phased service including the planning, implementation and operational phases of the Games.

Phase 1 included the development by PMY of a comprehensive Games Technology Master Plan tailored for the multi-sport (8), multi-venue event (9), which welcomed over 1400 athletes from over 100 nations. The TMP included:

• a detailed catalog of Games Technology Services to be designed, delivered and operated

• clear specifications regarding the delivery timeline, responsible parties, and implementation process

• consideration of the relationships between each service to ensure a seamless, integrated solution

• Gap Analysis identifying the gap between the Local Organizing Committee’s current planning and progress measured against the requirements of the governing body, Special Olympics International.

• Incorporation of Event Planning Documents essential for the planning, implementation, and operational phases of the event covering project schedule, service catalog by venue, equipment allocation, connectivity matrix, integration plan, risks & issues, governance, reporting, resourcing and RACI.

PMY then oversaw the implementation of the Technology Master Plan and the subsequent operations of the Games Technology Services across all competition venues, across both “mountain” and “city” clusters, including competition and Ceremonies venues.

This included: 

• Execution of PMYs comprehensive Technology Management Plan

• Identification, contracting support, onboarding and integration of Games Technology Service Providers

• Update and optimization of the Games Technology Budget

• Provision of central and on-venue specialist resources such as Venue Technology Managers

• Oversight of the bump-in, deployment, testing, go-live, operations and decommission of Games Technology Services and Service Providers across all venues

• Interface with other stakeholder including Special Olympics International, the Host Broadcaster, other Local Organizing Committee Functional Areas (e.g. Sport, Venues) and the Venues. 

This comprehensive approach was essential to meet the stringent requirements set by Special Olympics International for ensuring a successful Games. PMY’s professionalism also led to PMY being subsequently engaged by Special Olympics International to provide specialist Games Technology consulting services ahead of the Santiago 2027 World Games.
