VICTORIOUS FESTIVAL’S TRUSTED END-TO-END EVENT TECHNOLOGY PROVIDER

In 2023, PMY secured a three-year tender to collaborate with Victorious Festival, following a successful partnership in 2019. As part of the deal, PMY deploys and manages a comprehensive network to support connectivity for bars, traders, sponsors, and production across the entire festival site.

Additionally, the project includes setting up CCTV cameras around the perimeter, stages, and bars to enhance security.

Known as the UK’s biggest metropolitan family-friendly festival, Victorious Festival first engaged PMY in May 2023, marking the beginning of the planning phase.

Following the planning phase, a site visit was conducted to validate the requirements and establish rapport with the production staff. This visit was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the event and fine-tuning the design to ensure optimal effectiveness.

Building a strong relationship with the production team was a key aspect of this phase, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to the project’s success.

By mid-August the PMY event technology team was on-site, ready to commence the setup. The team faced several challenges, particularly since the site was new to them. One significant challenge involved flying some fibre cables over roads and digging others into the ground, a task that required precision and expertise. Ultimately, PMY deployed 6km of armoured fibre optic cables designed to withstand the rigors of the festival environment and its visitors. Further, 15km of Cat 5e copper cable was installed, alongside 120 Wi-Fi access points plus more than 40 PTZ CCTV cameras.

Seeing the infrastructure come together and operate smoothly was immensely rewarding for the team. Large events like this involve numerous stakeholders, requiring careful management and balance to ensure satisfaction across the board. The meticulous setup paid off during the live weekend, which proceeded without a hitch!
