POSITION OVERVIEW

The E-rate Practice Leader is responsible for the overall direction, execution, growth, and success of True North’s ERate practice, ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments, and core values.


RESPONSIBILITIES

E-RATE PRACTICE LEADER - RELATED DUTIES:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the ERate practice, aligning with True North Consulting Group's overall business objectives

  • Set clear goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the ERate practice

  • Regularly assess and report on the practice's performance, making data-driven decisions to drive growth and efficiency

Practice Management

  • Oversee all aspects of the ERate consulting services, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices for ERate consulting

  • Stay current with ERate program rules, regulations, and industry trends, ensuring the practice remains compliant and competitive

Team Leadership:

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews to ensure alignment with practice goals and individual growth

  • Build and lead a team of ERate consultants, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities

Client Relationship Management

  • .Serve as the primary point of contact for key ERate clients, building and maintaining strong relationships

  • Oversee the development and delivery of customized ERate solutions that meet client needs and exceed expectations

  • Proactively address client concerns and resolve issues to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and retention

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the ERate practice budget, including revenue forecasting and expense control

  • Optimize resource allocation to maximize profitability while maintaining service quality

  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements

Quality Assurance

  • Establish and maintain quality control processes for all ERate consulting deliverables

  • Regularly review and audit ERate applications and other documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives based on client feedback and industry best practice

Thought Leadership:

  • Represent True North Consulting Group at industry conferences, webinars, and other events as an ERate subject matter expert

  • Contribute to industry publications and the company's thought leadership content on ERate-related topics

  • Participate in relevant industry associations and working groups to stay informed about ERate trends and influence policy decisions

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DUTIES:

Sales Training and Support:

  • Develop comprehensive training materials and programs on ERate services for sales consultants

  • Conduct regular training sessions to educate sales teams on ERate program fundamentals, eligibility requirements, and application processes

  • Provide ongoing support to sales consultants, including assistance with technical questions and proposal development

Marketing Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted marketing strategies for ERate services

  • Contribute to the creation of marketing collateral, including brochures, case studies, and white papers

  • Collaborate on content creation for the company website, social media, and other digital platforms to showcase ERate expertise

Lead Generation and Qualification

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify and qualify potential ERate clients

  • Collaborate with sales teams to create targeted lead generation campaigns

  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to identify new business prospects

Proposal Development

  • Oversee the development of high-quality, tailored proposals for ERate consulting services

  • Review and approve all ERate-related proposals to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and alignment with client needs

  • Provide guidance on pricing strategies and service offerings to maximize win rates

Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence :

  • Conduct regular market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and threats in the ERate consulting space

  • Monitor competitors' activities and develop strategies to maintain True North's competitive advantage

  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on market positioning and service differentiation

Client Expansion:

  • Develop strategies to expand services within existing ERate client accounts

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities with other True North practice areas

  • Work with account managers to create and implement account growth plans

Performance Tracking and Reporting:

  • Establish and monitor key business development metrics for the ERate practice

  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales pipeline, win rates, and revenue growth to leadership

  • Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed


GENERAL DUTIES:

  • Daily maintenance of Admin tools – Ajera (time & expense reports), Outlook Calendar

  • Present yourself in a professional manner, dressing appropriately for the people with whom you are working each day.

  • Create a synergistic and collaborative environment with others

  • Assist TNCG staff in overcoming roadblocks of any kind

  • Assist TNCG staff in being productive, organized, and professional

  • Participates in team-building events

  • Minimize company expenses as related to travel, entertainment, and other related expenses

  • Contribute to long-term True North strategies

  • Promote True North’s culture and core values


QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • At least five years of advanced ERate experience – forms, tools, requirements, deadlines, compliance, reviews/audits, etc.

  • General understanding of Erate eligible services components – switches, routers, access points, internet, fiber connections, etc.

  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook, and OneNote

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Assertive personality and disposition - confidence with humility

  • Strong organizational skills, reporting skills, presentation skills, and interpersonal skills

  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards

  • Excels at operating in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, deadline-based environment

  • Ability to excel in both a work-from-home and office environment

  • Open to direction and collaborative work style and commitment to getting the job done

  • Ability to challenge and discuss issues of importance to the organization

  • Eligibility for coverage under the company’s motor vehicle policy

  • Ability to qualify for a background clearance through the State of Texas

  • Travel and overnight stay, as minimally required

This is a full-time position with the flexibility to work from home. We prefer that the candidate be based in Central Texas, near our Austin and Waco offices.
