Principality Stadium in Cardiff has solidified its reputation as a world-class venue through cutting-edge technological upgrades and seamless event support, delivered and managed by PMY.
Commissioned by the Welsh Rugby Union, PMY transformed the stadium's infrastructure with comprehensive upgrades to its Wi-Fi network, core LAN, structured cabling, and Exterity IPTV systems, alongside a refreshed production studio. The stadium now boasts a full Ross Video Production Studio, making it one of only a few stadiums in Europe with this technology. This turnkey solution is fully managed and operated by PMY, ensuring clients receive unparalleled service and expertise.
These advancements have enhanced operational efficiency, fan engagement, and commercial opportunities for events including the Six Nations, FIM Speedway GP, Autumn Nations Series, Monster Jam, and concerts featuring artists like Coldplay, Oasis, Foo Fighters, Billy Joel, P!NK, Harry Styles, and Bruce Springsteen. During this year’s Autumn Nations Series, PMY introduced FanSee to the Principality Stadium, allowing fans to share live streams from their phones, providing a fresh and interactive perspective on the traditional fan cam. PMY also produced live streams for the Road to Principality community event, achieving an impressive 184,000 views on the WRU’s YouTube channel.
For Taylor Swift’s 2024 Eras Tour, PMY extended its expertise by providing a high-speed Wi-Fi network for production, ticketing, and security, while managing the mid-tier LED system for bespoke content feeds. PMY tailored technology deployments to meet specific artist needs, from adjusting Wi-Fi in dressing rooms to adapting fibre setups for stage load-ins. Their work ensured flawless event execution, including Xpression graphics, live streaming across 500+ IPTV screens, and comprehensive audio-visual support.
Additionally, the stadium recently installed a Musco Show-Light® Entertainment system, which can be operated and controlled by PMY to meet varying client requirements.
