POSITION OVERVIEW

PMY is a leading full-service technology solutions provider transforming the sports and entertainment industry. With a focus on enhancing fan experiences and optimizing venue operations, we deliver tailored technology designs and solutions for some of the world’s most iconic venues and events. As we continue our growth trajectory, we are expanding our team by hiring multiple Business Development Managers to drive PMY’s growth and build long-term client relationships in this dynamic sector.

You are a seasoned professional with a strong network and a reputation in the sports and entertainment industry, particularly around technology solutions for venues. You have hands-on experience with, or a deep understanding of, the technology systems that power multi-purpose sports and entertainment venues. This may include ICT/Connectivity, Audio/Visual Systems, Scoreboards & Video Displays, Surveillance, and other venue infrastructure systems as a designer, operator, end user, consultant, or vendor. You are a consultative seller, capable of articulating PMY's unique value proposition while understanding client needs and industry trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate Client Relationships: Proactively engage with technology leaders (e.g., IT directors, AV directors, facility managers) within sports and entertainment venues, becoming a trusted advisor on all things related to venue technology.

  • Be the Industry Expert: Maintain expertise in venue technology trends, including advancements in systems like scoreboards, performance lighting, security, and acoustics. Regularly share insights with clients to position PMY as a cutting-edge solutions provider.

  • Trusted Partner: Assess clients’ needs, identify opportunities, and propose customized solutions that align with PMY’s offerings but most importantly best serve the client, building a reputation as a partner, problem-solver, and expert.

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Identify and secure new business opportunities, meeting or exceeding sales targets through a strategic approach to business development.

  • Stay Product-Informed: Understand current and emerging technology products from leading manufacturers, providing clients with a clear view of how these innovations could benefit their venues

  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with PMY’s design, project delivery, engineering, and support teams to ensure seamless handoffs and high-quality service delivery.

  • Monitor Market Dynamics: Track industry developments and competitor offerings, identifying areas where PMY can differentiate itself and add unique value.

  • Travel: you will be responsible for a market and/or a region and travel is a must. Work life balance is extremely important at PMY, as is an understanding that our clients work weekends, evenings, holidays etc.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Experience: 5+ years in a business development, sales, or similar client-facing role in the sports and entertainment sector, with direct exposure to technology infrastructure projects. Experience working with architects is a plus.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the technology systems common in multi-purpose venues (e.g., ICT/Connectivity, Audio/Visual Systems, Broadcast and Video Production, Scoreboards & Video Displays, Surveillance and Security, and more).

  • Relationship-Driven: Proven ability to build lasting relationships with senior decision-makers and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Sales Acumen: Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets in a competitive market.

  • Technical Aptitude: Able to understand and explain complex technical concepts to clients, with a working knowledge of emerging trends in venue technology.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
