Melbourne, Australia 28 November 2022. PMY is pleased to announce that its Sport & Major Events team has been further strengthened with the addition of two of the UK’s leading venue and event technology experts, Tony Dudley (CTO - UK, Europe and Major Events), and Laurence Smith (Head of Venue & Event Technology - UK/Europe).

Both Tony and Laurence come to PMY from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games where they played key management roles, respectively spearheading the Games Telecommunications and Venue Technology strategy, implementation, and operations across all Games venues. 

Tony and Laurence will boost PMY’s already strong team of venue and event technology veterans supporting global major sporting events such as Olympics, Commonwealth Games, World Championships, major tennis and golf opens and more. 

Commenting on the appointments, John de Carvalho – Executive General Manager – Sports & Major Events said: “We feel privileged to welcome two of the UK’s technology industry leaders into the business. Both Tony and Laurence have extensive major event experience including multiple Olympic, Commonwealth and European Games and I’m sure they will bring tremendous value to PMY’s major event clients in the region and across the globe.”

Tony re-joins PMY having been with the business in 2018-19: “We have hit the ground running, already working closely with Games organisers to help them design and deliver successful technology solutions that underpin the success of the event and the experience of key stakeholders and client groups. It’s great to be back!”.
